  • What is the length and frequency of our sessions?
Each session will be 50 minutes to an hour. We typically schedule our appointments once a week or every two weeks.
  • Are sessions in-person or online?
All sessions are online. A Google Meet invite and video link will be provided when appointments are confirmed.
  • How much is the fee?
Session fee depends on if it’s an individual or a couple or family therapy session. It would also depend if you are living in India or overseas. Contact me directly to discuss rates.
  • Is there a sliding fee scale?
A limited number of sliding fee scale appointments are offered. This option will be offered if the slots for the fee scale are available. Contact me directly for this.
  • What happens typically during a session?
During the first session, introductions are made and a brief family history will be noted. We will also go over the informed consent to ensure clarity before beginning. In the second session, you will be asked to provide background and context and goals will be set before the end of the session. The work begins after the 3rd session. We will approach your issues in a collaborative manner. I will empathetically stay with your concerns, occasionally asking questions and sometimes gently challenging you. You are also allowed to ask me questions or clear up any doubts that may arise.
  • How long does the therapy process take?
Each case is dependent on clients with their personal histories. A few clients may wrap up under 20 sessions if their needs and concerns are brief. Other cases, especially ones related to trauma may take many months.
  • How do I know if it’s a good fit?
A good rapport between a client and therapist is key creating a corrective emotional experience. It usually takes 2 to 3 sessions to determine if it is good fit.
  • Do you prescribe medication?
No, I do not prescribe medication. Only a psychiatrist with a medical degree is allowed to prescribe medication. I do, however collaborate with some wonderful psychiatrists. If after a few sessions, we decide that medication might be appropriate, a referral will be made for the best treatment for you.
